We are a broad coalition of students, community organizations, and union members united to make the University of Southern California (USC) a better neighbor and accountable to its surrounding communities.

Together, we’re working to expand USC access to working class LAUSD students, fighting to increase the affordable housing stock in USC’s neighboring communities, mobilizing to abolish the USC police, and organizing to make USC a good employer that respects workers’ right to form their union.

These are our top goals:

  • USC adopts fair union contracts for all workers including shuttle drivers, maintenance workers, and graduate students.
  • Creation of an affordable housing trust fund for Extremely Low and Acutely Low income housing (30% AMI and below).
  • Community access to campus amenities and transparency with amenities offered (such as parking, shuttles, student dining, fitness rooms, pools…).
  • USC adopts a 50% local hire and local training policy for all permanent and construction jobs including prioritizing unemployed and underemployed residents that live within a 2 mile radius of all USC projects.
  • USC fulfills all past Voluntary Conditions of Approval with Eastside LEADS for the Health Science Campus projects within 1 year. Penalties will be established to hold USC accountable if these commitments and future commitments are not met.
